Be known for that one thing and offer value
Essentially you need to: offer value/guidance or a unique point of view on a topic or a field.
Thought leadership is an excellent way to establish trust, credibility and authority and LinkedIn is the obvious place to do that.
Being a thought leader means finding what you stand for, what you’re passionate about, and sharing that with the world.
Thought leadership doesn’t have to be world-changing stuff.
It can be your passion about a certain subject that you consistently share and become a trusted source of knowledge for.
Sometimes it’s the very work you do.
You might already be a thought leader
Most of the business leaders I meet are thought leaders in some capacity.
You’re in business because you feel strongly that you can provide something or offer something that others really need. You have your own way of thinking about a problem and your own ways to solve it.
Create your community
If you want to create a business that is thought of positively, you need to stand for something positive.
If you don’t, you’re just another service provider and easily ignored.
Thought leaders can use LinkedIn to create community.
Creating a community around your mission, we know, is becoming more important in a world that values trust, and positive change.
Be a thought leader on LinkedIn
What thought leadership isn't is using LinkedIn as a platform to shout about the way things should be done, in a way that doesn’t tell a story or connect with your community.
Leaders lift others up, they offer advice and opinions.
If you’re on LinkedIn, you already know thought leaders.
These are the people who are well known for their niche, who freely share their knowledge and who generously give their time to supporting others.
They are the people using LinkedIn Lives and LinkedIn Audios to ignite conversations around their subject.
They are the people asking questions, sparking debate and being relatable and human about it all.
Great thought leaders:
drop the corporate speak.
show their personality
write how they speak
allow us to see their humanity
tell relatable stories
Can you be a thought leader?
I work with business leaders to become thought leaders on LinkedIn.
We find your voice, and strategise on how to elevate it throughout LinkedIn.
We find your community and increase your presence.
LinkedIn isn't a popularity contest but...
Theoretically, thought leadership isn't a popularity contest but you may have seen on LinkedIn lately that people who post regularly, comment on others' content and are active, tend to get more engagement.
So we also make sure that happens, while generating value-driven thought leadership content.
Fear of getting posts 'wrong' on LinkedIn
A lot of professionals are fearful of posting on LinkedIn because of ‘getting it wrong’ or damaging the business’ reputation.
That’s why initially, we work on posts and content together to get to a point where you’re happy to go it alone or I can stick around.
It’s whatever works best for you.
Through this activity, we turn you into the go-to person for the thing you’re passionate about, whatever it may be.
The people I work with not only feel comfortable on LinkedIn once I’ve finished working with them, they feel empowered and have a clear vision for how to bring their community closer.
Thought leadership leads to business.
It doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to be authentic and clear so let’s see if I can help you with that.
